 Splitstream
Racing Products developed a special nylon fuel filter screen for
KTM, and Husaberg fuel injected models. Splitstream
fuel filters press into the filler neck of the OEM gas tank, helping
keep small particles of dirt, sand or debris from entering the fuel
tank and clogging the fuel filter and potentially ruining the
injector. Most fuel injector nozzles have 50 or 60 micron holes, so
Splitstream used a very fine 25 micron mesh for their fuel filter
bags, helping eliminate clogged fuel injector nozzles. The Splitstream fuel filter is gas resistant can be left in the gas tank
while riding.
Note:
per the Motocross Action
magazine review, Splitstream fuel filters will also help keep water
out of your fuel system if you remove the filter and shake it out
after filling the tank. Aggressive riding may cause any water
trapped in the filter to break down and pass through the filter as
the fuel sloshes around in the tank.
