z-Start Left-hand Brake Kit Systems |
| Rekluse z-Start Left-hand or
Dual-Action Rear
Brake Systems provide a solution for riders who often find
themselves "bulldogging", or walking the bike down very steep
sections of trail. Left-hand operated rear brake systems are
also very useful when a rider fails to make a hillclimb and needs
to turn the bike around on the side of a steep hill. |

The
z-Start Brake kit is
designed to enhance rider control. The z-Start Brake enables
the rider to use their left hand to actuate the rear brake.
Moving rear brake control to the left hand enhances your
riding experience by significantly improving braking control
in tight corners, right turns, and other technical riding
situations.
There are two options for brake kits:
Left-hand only which bypasses and eliminates the foot pedal
completely, and a Dual-Action
model that allows brake activation with either the left
hand or right foot.
The stock clutch lever and perch must be removed to install
the z-Start Brake Kit. For cable-clutch bikes, a 2-finger
override option is available to add a small clutch lever
to the brake master cylinder. This 2-finger override
will not work for bikes that do not have a z-Start or
z-Start Pro clutch, as there is not enough leverage from
this lever to compress standard clutch springs.
Currently, Rekluse does not offer a clutch lever option to work with
a left hand brake kit on KTMs or other bikes with a hydraulic
clutch. |

Left-hand Rear Brake Systems are available for
a wide variety of
motorcycles with a rear disk brake. "Left-hand only" rear brake systems
bypass and eliminate the foot pedal
completely,
so it must be removed from the bike. (shown with
optional 2-finger clutch lever)

Dual-Action Rear Brake Systems are available
for a wide variety of motorcycles with an integrated rear
brake master cylinder and reservoir. Dual-action rear brake systems allow the use of the
left-hand brake lever or the right foot pedal.

Rekluse 2-Finger Clutch Lever
- the stock clutch lever and perch must be removed to install the z-Start Brake Kit. For cable-clutch bikes, this
2-finger override option is available to add a small clutch lever to the brake master cylinder.
Currently, Rekluse does not offer a clutch lever option to work with a left hand brake kit on KTMs or other bikes with
a hydraulic clutch.
(This 2-finger override will not work for bikes that do not have
a z-Start or z-Start Pro clutch, as there is not enough leverage
from this lever to compress standard clutch springs.)

Rekluse Hot Start Lever is offered for 4-stroke owners needing to move
their hot start lever to the right side to accommodate a Left-hand or dual-action rear brake system.

z511B Dual Action Rear Brake Kit will only fit KTM
models with the "New Style" rear master cylinder. This master
cylinder is used on all full-size 2005 motorcycles, some late 2004
models, and a few 2003 SX models. Please examine your master
cylinder carefully before ordering the z-511B Dual Action Rear Brake Kit.
If you have the old style rear brake master cylinder, the inner depth of the reservoir is 35mm and will not accept the 45 mm sleeve used with the new
master cylinder. |
