- the Kilimanjaro jacket is a waterproof, windproof
textile jacket in the upper mid-range of the First
Gear lineup. CE armor, 9 inch chest intake vents, 8
inch armpit vents and a 13 inch rear exhaust vent
coupled with ample, well placed pockets make this a
versatile, comfortable jacket.
The Kilimanjaro is slightly heavier and bulkier than
the high-end Rainier or the more offroad oriented
Kathmandu, so we feel it is best suited for street
or adventure riders that need quality protection
from the elements, but don’t typically work up a
sweat on single-track trails.
The included Taslan nylon inner jacket can also be
worn as a standalone waterproof and windproof
jacket.
Kilimanjaro Fitment Notes
- the Kilimanjaro jacket is a generous pattern and
runs large. Our test fit subject is a 5'10" tall
male, weighing 225 pounds with a 46 1/2 inch chest.
He normally wears an XL jacket, but found the
Kilimanjaro XL jacket to be too big. He found the
Large to be a good fit both with and without the
liner. "Tall" cut jackets are available in L, XL,
and XXL sizes |
