- the Kathmandu jacket is a waterproof, windproof
textile jacket in the upper mid-range of the First
Gear lineup. CE armor, 9 inch chest intake vents, 7
inch armpit vents and a large 14 inch rear exhaust
vent coupled with ample, well placed “dry” pockets
make this a versatile, comfortable jacket.
The Kathmandu is a lighter more off-road oriented
jacket than the Kilimanjaro and includes a 1.5 liter
hydration bladder in a removable backpack. We think
the Kathmandu is a great choice for riders that like
to mix in some single-track trail on their dual
sport adventure ride.
The removable thermal liner provides added warmth
for cold weather, but is not designed as a
standalone jacket. The under-helmet rain hood is
hidden under the collar for nice days, but does a
great job of keeping water off your neck and back on
not-so-nice days.

- the Kathmandu jacket is sized right. Our test fit
subject is a 5'10" tall male, weighing 225 pounds
with a 46 1/2 inch chest. He normally wears an XL
jacket, and found the Kathmandu XL jacket to be a
perfect fit "Tall" cut jackets are available in L,
XL, and XXL sizes |
